Super Bowl Heartbreaks and Happiness by Al O’Harra

The Buccaneers had totally kicked the Raiders butts through most of Super Bowl XXXV11. The score was Tampa 34 and Oakland 21, as the game went into the final two minutes. Bob Genese had box # 74; Tampa 4, Oakland 1, and was all but a lock to win on the final, $1000. All Tampa had to do was stop them, run out the clock, and this one was oh-so-over. Rich Gannon went back to pass and with 1:18 Bobs heart was broken with an interception and 44 yard runback TD.

Jim Kelly, who had bought one of the last boxes, # 72, must have sat in disbelief as the score stood at Tampa 41, Oakland 21, and he had the winning 1-1 box. But Gannon was not done breaking hearts on this day. So, with only 2 seconds left in the game, on the last play of the game, he throws another interception resulting in a 50- yard runback TD. The score changes to Tampa Bay 48, Oakland 21.

Who was the lucky $1000 box winner? Wayne March, the Los Angeles Dodgers League Champion. He had invested $75 for three boxes. As I wrote the check this week, I had to smile, cause life, like your Super Bowl Boxes, can be so damn unfair!!!
